About Little Leaf Press
Small books, big feelings, a very quiet windowsill.
Little Leaf Press is a small independent publisher of picture books for children ages 3-7. We make quiet, warmhearted stories about the things that feel enormous when you're little: a new leaf, a rainy day, a bigger pot, an afternoon that just feels a bit gray.
Every book we make is designed to be read out loud, close together, with a small person on your lap. The stories are gentle on purpose. The lessons (patience, courage, kindness, finding your way back to joy) are woven in so lightly that a three-year-old just hears a story about a friend.
Meet Figaro
Figaro is a little fiddle leaf fig who lives on a sunny windowsill in a heart-stamped pot. He is curious, a little bit brave, and prone to worrying about things that turn out to be fine. On the windowsill with him live Joy the pothos and Opal the orchid, and just outside in the garden lives his cheerful friend Daisy, who is always ready with a wave and a bit of encouragement. In his first book, Figaro is quietly certain he'll never grow a new leaf, until he learns that the most important growing often happens somewhere you can't see.
Written by KCN
The Figaro Stories are written by KCN, an independent author who believes little books can carry big feelings, and that no story is finished until it's been read out loud at bedtime.
What we believe
- Gentle is not the same as small. A quiet story can carry a big idea.
- Feelings are not problems. They're weather. Every kind is welcome.
- Little wins count. A new leaf is a very big deal.
- Read it again. The tenth reading is when the story really lands.
Who we are
Little Leaf Press is an independent, family-run imprint of two people. Each book is written and edited by KCN, then printed and shipped through trusted print-on-demand partners so that a book can find a windowsill anywhere in the world.
We don't have a marketing department. We have a windowsill and some good pens.
